Comfortable, and not too douchy looking. Basic khaki, dont need a bazillion pockets.
Something good for carbine classes, 3gun matches, and outdoor work.

Lapg has their elastic waistband models for, $20.

BDU pants are awesome. Poly/cotton rip stop lasts darn near forever and the khaki looks decent enough to wear around town. Comfortable, dry fast, cool in the summer, etc.

Yep. I mean I own 5.11's and 24/7 tactical pants and a pair of those crappy LAPolice gear pants.....but all these people asking for some sort of hard use pants need to just hit up a surplus store or the internet and get some tried and true BDU trousers (Propper only). They come in EVERY COLOR AND CAMO PATTERN imaginable and they're cheaper than most other tactical snobbery pants around. They're the original and no bullshit...that reminds me I need a new pair of OD green

SKD Combat BDU is a lot like the propper or 5.11 pants but are built much better.

I've used all 3, and I destroyed the 5.11 pants fairly easily as they're pretty thin. The propper BDUs are a little better material wise, but aern't gusseted so if you're moving around in them, shooting in weird positions or hiking/doing anything other than walking in them they tend to blow the crotch area or upper thigh area out.

SKD BDU's are a little more pricey, but I would have spent the cash on more pants along the way by now. They come in tan so you can avoid the camo tacticool look.

In short, no.  I've worn the hell out of mine daily for over 9 months, and while they're no longer fit to wear in a civilized place due to all the stains they're still in really great shape despite living and working in an austere environment.  I did have a cargo pocket seam on one of my pairs blow out while on a C-17 flight to Germany.  I rigged up my hammock by the troop door so I could try to sleep, took my pants off, and sewed the pocket back on.  It's been that way for about 6 months and is still fine so the fabric holds a stitch pretty well.  My only gripe about them is the stupid pocket on the front of the pants and the LA Police Gear embroidering on the left cargo flap.  Without those they'd be a 5 star product for the price, with them I give them a 4 out of 5.

Make sure you buy one size up if you want to conceal carry in them, with the elastic stretched out is the waist size they advertise.

<ETA> FWIW I have a set of their older Operator pants that's going on 7-8 years old, they've held up fine.  LAPG's pants really can't be beat for the money IMHO.  Their polo's on the other hand, suck.

Depending on what you're doing, the cut on the back of those looks pretty horrible. It has an "adult baby with a reinforced diaper" look.

Also, the Propper "Battle Rip" stuff is heavy (read: really fucking hot) in the Texas summer.

The last pair(s) of pants you need.  Looks good on/ and off the range. All made in the USA!  Yes they are spendy, but you do get what you pay for.

I second the LAPG pants bein GTG.
I've been wearing the new ones with the regular back pocket for 3-4 months now for uniform use.

No issues.

To be honest I haven't been abusing them or low crawling in them but I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

I know there are better pants out there for like others have said, for the money and quality you can't bet these.

I thought the idea was being hard use for work/shooting/etc....not fashion. Besides I grew up wearing baggy skater pants so that doesn't bother me. And summer in Oklahoma can get pretty bad too.....there's no pants that are going to be comfortable enough for that

I was thinking more along of the lines of the material that 5.11 pants and the like are made of.

Poly/cotton? BDU's, tru spec 24/7 pants and others, including Dickies, are made out of that stuff....it's not some sort of special tactical fabric

If you say so, I've never felt like I've been getting screwed on shipping from them even with their normal rates.  I always select the cheapest option and it's in line with what I'd expect to pay for a package that size.  Order over $99 worth of stuff and it's $2.99 standard shipping which is pretty easy to do.  It seems like every time I order from them I'm always adding 1 or 2 of their pistol cases or something else to the order

Yea me to.
Never had an issue personally with shipping with LAPG.

If you just order a single item anywhere you will probably lose on shipping.
I ordered 4 pair when I ordered mine.

Now if you want to talk about back orders with LAPG then you'll be spot on.

Seems like almost every other order I get the back order notice from them.
Have something on back order ( maxpedition dump pouch ) since like November.

I have a pair of these.  Used to have a number of pairs of columbia pants that I used for golfing, etc., back in the days before I got into shooting more regularly.  I have a pair of 5.11 pants and a pair of Columbias that I rotate through for classes, range trips, etc.  Both work out just fine for me.

Now, I'm not wearing either every single day.  I've worn the columbia pants more, actually, as I will wear them for walking/hiking, quick trip out to run errands on the weekend when I don't want to wear jeans, etc.

Have to agree with this.  Picked up a few pairs of these at my local Military Surplus store and I think that I like these better than my 5.11 pants. They cost less than 5.11 too.

I second this - I wear propper pants and shirts for work every day, and the only issue ive had with these is that the buttons tend to pop off once in a while. easy to sew back on though.
