| Anyone have any experience with the NEF Pardner pump? I saw in a Dick's add for pretty cheap. Wondering if thy are compatible with any other magazine extentions. Reliability, quality, etc? |

Apparently these are the Chinese Norinco "Clones" of the Remington 870, that have been slightly modified in appearance for NEF. The standard Chines copies of the 870 are fairly good guns, but NOT up to American standards of fit or finish. Most owners say they make great truck, farm, or knock-around guns that you don't have to worry about getting banged up. They always seem to go "BOOM" when the trigger is pulled. With that said, I haven't heard any actual NEF owners report about their results with the Partner. On the standard Chinese 870 copies, SOME parts interchange, but since the magazine tube holds 5 shells instead of the Remington's 4, the barrel support ring is farther toward the muzzle on the Chinese versions. This means that American magazine extensions will either be too long and stick out beyond the muzzle, or too short and barrels will NOT interchange. So if the NEF has a 5 shot magazine tube, you may have problems getting a magazine extension to fit properly. |
| I have a NEF pump at home and we carry Scattergun shotguns at work. I took the wilson plus one from my work gun and screwed it on the end of my NEF shotgun to check. It fit but the NEF shotgun does not use a detent ball and spring to tighten against. You would need something like the GG&G side plate to tighten the wilson plus one down on to hold the barrel. I like my NEF. It was an impule buy for $169 OTD from Dick's. I've put about 100 rounds through it so far, mostly slugs with no problems and it has a metal trigger guard. David |

I own one. It works. Nothing fancy. Threads are metric for the butstock but all other aftermarked accessories seem to mount up. ( I have not tried any barrels or anything else other than cosmetic stuff ) Tubes work fine. Has the 870 detents in the tube that have to be removed. Is definetly a beater. Major machine marks and the finish sux inside overall. But for this kind of money you would expect it. I paid 125 out the door for mine. Takes 870 choke tubes. I love it. Can't be beat for the price. |
