I bought 4 kits from Dan's when he still had them so I can't speak for anyone else.

Cope's Distributing has them listed

Interordnance has three different kits listed.

Hope this is what you were looking for...

Entreprise has them for $150.

Mine looks similar to that one that is $250 on gunbroker.  Here are some pics of mine after removing the receiver stub.  The bore is shiny with strong, sharp rifling and I'd rate it VG (imperfections visible when bore is dry).

The receiver cover was dented to hell and is not shown in the pics.  I attacked it with a dremel grinding disk, but it is still unusable.  This is not a problem because I will be using the tapco cover / scope mount with stripper clip guide.  I have stripped everything down to prepare for sandblasting and parkerizing and found no major problems.

The included locking shoulder measures .257.  All small parts seem to be present.

Check out the marketplace on the FAL files.  Some one is always selling kits.

Usually better prices then the big vendors.

I got my kit from bocefus on falfiles.  I got a krink kit from him too.

Your about a year too late on the "budget" receivers.  The price of rec's has gone WAY up since Imbel is no longer imported and DC hasnt had any for quite some time.  Both of which used to be about $200.   DSA is probably your best bet now, but Ive heard theyre out fo stock right now.  You could try gunbroker.

I just bit the bullet and payed out the ying yang for an `02 Imbel instead of waiting out the backorder from DSA.

The receiver market is pretty dry.  DSA receivers, once acknowledged as being the best but also being too expensive are now just 'the best'.  I like Type IIs.
