A buddy of mine has a Persian Mauser he wants too trade me for my CZ75 and I was wondering if it would really be worth it.From all the research I've done everyone says they are very collectible and one of the best Mauser's out there. The only other bolt gun I have is a m91/30 Mosin Nagant have shot my dad's m91/59 and Lee-Enfield so i have a little experience with bolt guns. Are there any draw backs to a Mauser for lefty shooters other than the obvious one being bolt manipulation? My use for it would be mainly hog or deer rifle.I prefer semi-auto style rifles but want to get into bolt guns for more hunting as my Ar-15's are more oriented towards HD.Any help on this would be appreciated as I have limited experience on Mausers worth. |

Is it a rifle or carbine? A Persian Mauser isn't a gun you want to use for hogs, etc. If in halfway decent shape you can make some dollars on it and buy something more suitable for hunting. IM me. I think its the rifle and from the pictures I saw seems pretty nice won't know til I see it up close Edit: it's a carbine length |

I love the Persian Mauser it should be a good hog gun depending on how you hunt.
the crest is beautiful, the front sight is a marvel -yes it just one piece forged that way. they are good guns ans a cz 75 is a trade you will do well on they are about even in value. |

BRNO made the orginal rifles for Persia before they got their production started up (under Czech assistance) and prewar grade (ie very high quality). I've got one of the BRNO 29 actions in the safe to be made into a 9.3x63 one day. The carbines do have quite a bit of muzzle blast/flash do to the very short bbl. Seen a bunch of them that had been captured from Iran by the Iraqis. Love the CZ75 pistol also.

| Made this thread a while ago. Some info here. Cool gun though. |
| Persian Mausers are some nice rifles but remember that no matter how nice it looks, it is still a surplus gun with no guaranty and no factory support. I am sure most shoot as good as they look but I know of at least one that would make your Mosin-Nagant look like a precision benchrest rifle. |
