putting a Trijicon 1-4 Accupoint on a Scout via the SEI mount and rings, anybody already have such a thing?

any issues that you may know of?

Yes, the issue is eye relief which is longer than a standard scope.
Larue makes a detachable scope ring-mount which is offset to the forward position that was specifically designed and built for mounting the Accu-Point on AR15/M16 flat top receivers.

This mount may well work as well when mounted on the Smith mount to provide sufficient eye relief on the M14/M1A type rifle. HTH

Won't the Larue mount put the accupoint too far forward?  As you said the Larue mount was made for the m4, where you can get up close to the rear of the receiver.  With the m14 youre eye is usually at least 3 inches back from the heal of the receiver (right above the comb).  Eye relief is around 3.2 or 3.4 if I recall on the accupoint.  Rings would be the best option if I'm thinking all this out right, not the Larue mount.  Here's a mockup of the accupoint on an arms 18 mount with some rings.  I too am looking to put a 1-4x power on my m1a (going with nightforce though).

You can see with the arms (sadlak or smith or sei would work the same) the scope is pretty much in the right position for correct eye relief.  It's got room to go either way for small adjustments.  The larue would put the ocular pretty much over the rear sight......that's 5 inches from the tip of the comb, way too far forward for it's eye relief.

And for shits, here's the nightforce mockups I did with arms 18, sadlak standard and airborne mounts (an accupoint would look the same).  I already have an arms 18, so I'll test that out, but in the end I don't know which of the big three (arms, sadlak, smith) I'll go with.  Probably sadlak or smith so I can have some iron sight view, still have to investigate how viable that is though.

Turn the Larue mount the other way. It'll extend backward toward the shooters eyes.

All I know is nothing I tried worked with my SEI M14 Picatinney mount plate and nothing I have really works well with the AR15s either.

I haven't gotten around to buying the Larue mount yet and as it stands right now, the scope is resting unused in a drawer.

The Accupoint has turned out to be one of the most expensive and disappointing Trijicon scopes I have ever owned.

Not sure if this helps you, but here's my Scout setup.  It's got a Sadlak mount, Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5 MR/T, and LaRue ultra low mount rings.  Pretty solid setup so far, zero has held up during the last 200 rds since everything's been installed.  The rings don't get in the way of using your irons, a problem I found with a LaRue SPR mount on my Loaded with extended rail that I just slapped on to try out an Accupoint.

Sorry but this is the only pic I have of my Scout.  I'm looking into getting one of the new TNVC cheek risers, but I can still get a decent cheek weld without one.

Great info glock.  Thanks for the note on the use of the irons as I was wondering about that.  Any chance you could take a photo up close directly from the side?  I understand if it's a hassle and you can't.

And also to add to the larue mount, I think it puts the scope needlessly high as well for an m1a.  On an AR it's ok and required.  But with an m1a we're constantly battling to keep the scopes lower so we don't have a giganto cheek rest.  I did a mock-up with it reversed I remember now, but the scope was very high when compared with some low rings.  So I ditched the larue idea, it's just made for the AR platform and I think works best there.

No can do on the pics at the moment.  Gotta wait a couple months until I get back home.  Good luck on your search.
