Background: rem 700 sbr'd to 10.5" with a 7 twist chambered in .223, AAC spr/m4 suppressor, with surgeon bottom metal in a manners stock, I only shoot the 80 Amax's. Its impressive and quieter than my 12.5" AR
Foreground: old savage stagger feed 308 with the factory 10 twist feather weight barrel cut to 16", running a AAC cyclone, in a manners ultra light stock with CDI bottom metal, I had my smith go over it with a brown finish and skim coat.

I almost exclusively ran supers through it and realized why am I paying double the price for bullets and components when I can shoot the .223 80 amaxs for half the cost? Run the numbers of a 80 gr bullet vs. a 110 gr, not that much different. So I switched it to .223 with a fast twist. For subs I have an SBR'd ruger 77/357 that I shoot cast bullets out of, 247 grainers, that beats the shit out of any 300 blk I've ever shot. I've started playing around with 300 grainers as well. 300 blk is great and all but if you want to shoot a lot and get good with a rifle don't buy one unless the cost of ammunition or components comes way way down.

Hart, none better anywhere.  My Cyclone on my 6.5/284, with 28" of initial barrel... it's a bit long.  SPR M4 with my 11.5" and 51T mount, also when shooting on my 18" with a Noveske Switchblock... the sound is greatly reduced with the gas in the off position. The Rem 700 SBR above is one I'm considering... nicely done up there. |
