| So we all know there are two kinds of plates- ICW soft armor and Stand Alone. I have seen guys wearing ICW plates alone and would assume they still give some level of protection without soft armor. Let's not get into whether or not they are designed for it- we all know they are not. Does anyone know how much protection the issue SAPI or ESAPI plates give when worn alone? Just curious..... |

I have seen some older Level 3 ICW plates that were Level 3 when worn with 3a armor or could just stop 7.63x39 stand alone. I think it was a older plate used with the ballistic nylon falk vests or PASGT vests. what do you think level III is?-it stops 7.62 x 39mm (and other things) |
