I finally ran out of my  life time supply of jacketed 158 grain for 357. I ordered a few thousand more from X-treme bullet co a few months ago and I just started to use the new batch. I noticed they are plated bullets. It seems like I read somewhere a long time ago[can't find it now] that plated bullets were not suppose to be loaded the levels as jacketed bullets.

Anybody know where I can find the info about this or can say my memory ain't for crap. It seems like you are suppose to us lead loads.

I loaded 9mm Plated near FMJ levels w/o issue.

I know Berry's tells you to keep it under 1200fps.

You can get jacketed bullets for the same price so why buy plated. Go wit Delta Precision or Montana Gold. I had trouble with plating coming off and being left in my suppressor, so I will only buy jacketed now.

Precision Delta doesn't make anything but lead bullets for 38/357 so they are worthless in this regard.  Montana Gold want $137 per 1K for their 158grn JHP which is too expensive.

Give Zero bullets a go.  They are sold through Rose Distributors and their 158grn JHP are only $87.18 per 1K and that includes shipping.

Montana gold is only worth ordering if you buy a full case.  That said, their full cases are usually an excellent value.
