There is more than that.

No adjustable stock.  Pinned flash hider, I think and no barrel under 16", I think.

Best you look it up.  Google is your friend.

What make/model is the lower receiver?

As long as the rifle's not NFA and the OAL is over 30", you're fine. Slap on a bullet button and don't bring any >10rd mags.

However, depending on the rollmark on the lower receiver, it MIGHT be on the "evil list" of rifles that are banned by name. Fortunately for CA gun owners the list is a little outdated but it does include a lot of big names like Colt, Armalite, Bushmaster, etc. Certain models from those brands are simply illegal for you to own in CA no matter how they are configured, assuming you did not register them in CA pre-2000. Tell us the make/model that is marked on the receiver and we can tell you whether you're clear.

WHY do people insist on adding their two cents to these threads when they have no idea what they're talking about?

I can't see your picture but if it's a PSA then you're good to go! Install the bullet button, leave your >10rd mags at home, and have fun! Remember to keep the rifle UNLOADED while you travel with it.

ETA: K, I see the pic now. Looks like a nice rifle.

Do you have any 10rd mags? Depending on where you're at in AZ I might have a couple you can borrow for the trip.

I've found that this site has lots of 10rd mags.  They have the magpul 10/20's which I use in my AR15 with no problems.

I most sincerely appreciate the offer, I think thats what makes this community so great... people like yourself who are willing to help out a fellow enthusiast. I have been the utter most impressed with the shooting community on a local level as well as these forums. Disregarding the occasional troll, the firearm community are some of the most genuine Americans I have ever met.

I'm curious as well.  Do you have to register it as well for the trip, or is it just the bullet button and 10 rounds mags?

I sure hope not, if thats the case I would rather just leave it at home. Maybe I should call a gun shop in the area to see if they might have a better idea

Ditto, you'll get all kinds of mixed info there. I would say your best bet is to call California DOJ and ask them what's required.

Moving to CA in November... All my rifles with fun stuff are getting bullet buttons, my 22's are staying the same. All my hi-cap mags will be disassembled and thrown in a "parts box" and I'm buying a couple dozen 10rd mags and Magpul 20's with 10rd blocks.

As a visitor to CA, you do not have to register any firearms that you are bringing with you.
