I'm not sure... There must be some difference between the new hi caps and the old pre ban mags ???

Thanks,

i never got a straight answer on this...
i've heard everything from if they are not dated and have no serial you can't get in trouble to they do not exist. as of now im only using 10 rounders at the range and it sucks. if you find prebans mags shoot me over a message.

I have yet to see a normal capacity 10/22 mag that had a date code stamped on it.

I'm just saying...

The only differences in my factory 10/22 mag from 1985 and the one I bought last year is the old one has a metal (steel I think) follower.  Then new one has a red plastic follower.  Both have  the words "10 SHOT" on them and nothing else.  Hope this helps.  Are you looking for after market high capasity "pre-ban" magazines?

I have a few preban mags. The ramline 50's are smoke with a red follower and the 30's are solid black with a red follower.

The eagle mags have a little tab on back to activate the mag release, which is too short to work. The new ones i have do not have this thing on them.

If you look closely on the newer ramline mags you can see an area on the magazine where it looks like there was some text (must have been the date stamp or for export use only stamp). That appears to have been ground off the mold once the ban ended.

The buttler creek 25 rounders have a different font of writing between the new and old as I have been able to tell. The old ones have a smalle font the new ones have a larger font.

Pre-ban high capacity mags certainly exist.

Best place to look will be in the Equipment exchange here.

I've still got a pre-ban BC hotlips mag, new in the wrapper.  I know it's preban because it still has the pre-ban price sticker on it.  I keep it to remind me what I had paid at one time for mags.
