Does anyone have the dirt on who makes or who can supply an M-60? A friend of mine and I would like to maybe pick one up.

Does anyone have one? Anyone point me in the right direction. Wanna pick one up before they ban them in CT.

This rifle, SA-60, has a heavily modified trigger housing, assembly, & bolt - i.e. spares only from USO or have your smith make them.  Trigger assembly has been moved back an inch and a quarter or so and internals have been modified (some pinning & welding) to prevent conversion to FA.

Rest of the rifle is from good to excellent quality original M60 military parts.  Spares can be obtained from J&T or Sarco.  No hanger assembly or M60 assault pacts - get these $extra$ from J&T.

For the price, the workmanship was OK; had to touch up some 'light rust' around some pins, crevices, etc. & clean some sand out of the buttstock & handguards.

For the money it's a blast to shoot - fast as you can pull the trigger & NO MAGS!!

Edited to correct that awful spelling - But I got a reason.  Picked up a bad habit from Computer Guy - ran my Jeep down an embankment & over a hundred or so saplings before it turned over today at noon in an Isidor storm.  Damn, that was scary - first wreck in 35 years.

Looks like it fires from a closed bolt as well.  A definite plus for a semi-auto.

Now if I had a few more prebans, a couple of RR FA's, etc., ....

My best friend had one for about 3 years, with doorgunner handles. It was a lot of fun, but it was very expensive b/c he had to keep replacing barrels on it. You couldn't rock'n'roll with it.

I don't think they are that expensive figure around $2000 plus for a new one.  And under semi auto fire I do not see the barrels going that quick either.  I plan on getting one myself.  Good Luck

$2000???? You been living under a rock??? A plain old used M60 parts kit costs double that!  Semi Autos run $5000+++ .  If you can get them for $2k let the rest of us know where.

No they aren't.  They're around $4500 new in the box.  Post samples are commonly sold for under $5k.

If you're talking about transferrable M60 MGs that civilians can own they run $15k-25k.

The least expensive belt fed that I know of is a M1919.  They are around $1700 and are a blast (pun intended) to shoot.

Looks just like this-->
