I have a good assortment of powders but I'd like to get rid of a small pile of these 150's I have.  Which of RL15, Tac, Cfe, Varget, XBR or IMR 4895 would be a better fit for this lighter bullet.  I've settled on heavier bullets so I'm trying to load more for plinking on these.  Thanks

Any of those powders will work.

Pick the one you want to waste the most, or that you want to keep the least.

Look up a safe load, and blast away.

What he said.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Funny though. All I use in my .308s are 150s since I no longer shoot HP silhouette.

I got a big box of Custom Comps of 160 something I want to get to.

at least locally, I've seen more of the 4895 than anything else.  Consistently.   If the others are harder to find, I'd hold on to them for other load developments.

Varget works great in my .308 with Hornady 150 grain BTSP bullets.

I just loaded up some 150's and 125's with r-15 and they shoot great.

My preferred .308 winchester bullet weight is 180 grain. However, based upon the powders that you have available, I would suggest you go with tac, 8208 or 4895.

I'm another "use any of them" vote.  They're all fine.

If you're just looking to blast them off I'd use the one powder that you want to use up and not restock if you have such a thought.   I sometimes do something along those lines when i'm playing with an old C&R gun for fun.

I have had excellent results with the 4895 and 150gr Matchkings.

Varget and 4895 have been good powders for me.
