[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Powdercoating Shotgun?

My roomate has an 870 express that he is toying with the idea of getting powdercoated. I know that Remington has the receivers coated on some of their tactical models, but I was wondering if it would be ok to get the barrel and magazine tube coated as well. Since I work on a powdercaot line we wouldn't be out any $ for trying. He only gave 90 bucks for the shotgun a few years ago so we aren't too afraid of messing it up. Thanks for any input.

I did a few a couple of years ago. They were older 870's. I did the receiver/mag tube and barrel. The tolerances are loose enough on the 870 that it is a very doable project.
One of them I did in flat black and 2 others were done in OD green.

Cool, thanks. He is wanting to do it in orange just because his best friend said he wouldn't. Sometimes you gotta be contrary
