I sent my 01 FFL appication in to the ATF the first few days in May. They have received the app and have cashed my check. This morning I get a call from an ATF agent saying she will be in my area and wants to meet with me and go over my application. Is this common or should I be concerned that there is a problem with my application? She says it won't take too long. I supposed to meet with her tomorrow morning at 9:30.

I'm aware that there's an interview tied to each application but the agent made it sound like this was an "extra" or "added" interview before my application will be processed any furthter. From what I've been reading, the main interview takes place at least 2 months after the application is sent in. It has been less than a month. She said she wanted to go over some things on the app. This is definately different from the main interview everyone talks about. Just wondering if anyone has gone through more than one interview during the application process.

Are there any zoning, business licensing, HOA/CCR, or business entity issues that they may have questions about?
Our IOI had already checked into our zoning and pulled our LLC info from the state offices prior to setting up our official interview. Perhaps some issues have come up in your initial screening that they want to clear up before continuing. |
| You are paranoid, every new FFL applicant goes through an interview. They review your application to make sure you don't need to change anything, review regs, and answer any questions you have. You are not special, they do not have the time to do extra or preliminary interviews. |

Ok, I guess I was paranoid. Just had my interview. The ATF agent said my application had just been ran through and she happened to be in my area on business so her advisor wanted her to go ahead and come by and conduct the interview. She laughed and said I bet you were worried when I called so early because you just sent your app in not too long ago. I told her I was a bit uneasy but all went well and I should get my license. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Even though BATF already has all my info, and was just here last year for my 01FFL... they still needed to come out to go over my 07 application. It's standard operating procedure.
