So I have been lurking here a while now. Viewed about 50 of the pages in the pic thread. Been going NUTS on which model MKII I wanted to buy.
Finally made my decision today. And I placed a bunch of orders tonight. Had my buddy who is a dealer put the order in for a BTVS MKII. I wanted the SS bull barrel so that I can do a brake. The thumbhole stock will be for sale as soon as I get it. The BV was cheaper but I wanted SS. 
This brake in the next two pics is made by this dude Ross... 
Soooo.. I ordered: [*]The muzzle brake [*]A Boyds Tacticool stock [*]DIP SS Bottom Metal and screws. I did not have to order the trigger guard as the BTVS comes with an SS trigger guard that I can use with the Tacticool stock. [*]Some CCI CB Longs, and Aguila Super Colibri ammo. I am hoping they are quiet enough for backyard plinking. I also have the CCI Quiet to try out in this. They were not very quiet in my pistols but the 18" barrel should make a difference LOL My gunsmith is going to cut down my barrel 3" and then install the brake and taper it. The brake does not come tapered like it is in the pics, Ross will either taper it for you when you order it or you have it done on your own. I am having it done when the smith cuts and threads the barrel. Going to pick up one of those Winchester knock off Harris bipods that walmart sells this weekend. And I have an older but amazing condition and great view 3-9x Redfield from the 70's that will be perfect for this rifle. WOOT! |
| If you're just ordering the parts now who's rifle is that in the second and third pics down in your post –– I've gotten real old and slow lately so I may have just not read your post correctly. I will say that the rifle shown in those pictures is really nice and I didn't realize there was a stock like that for bolt action rifles –– only seen similar stocks on 10/22's. |
