Alright - I know a farmer across the river (Iowa) that has a genuine HK 93 that he purchased  in '87 or '88 I believe.  He doesn't shoot it anymore, and all it does is sit somewhere and rust.  I shot it about a year and a half ago and the end of the cocking tube was pretty rusted and rust was distributed thinly on the rest of the gun.

What is a fair price for me to offer for this gun in this condition?  Granted I'm out to get a deal on a genuine HK, but I don't want to screw the guy either as he's a good friend and does some work for us now and again.

Getting cart before horse here, but anyway, what do 93 mags go for now?  Is anyone making them now that the ban's gone?

Technically, the only *new* HK93 mags are the 100 round Beta Cs.

DSA has the 40 rd. aluminum ones for around $35 each, Vector Arms also sells 93 mags, but I can't remember what they get for them.  As far as value of the gun goes, it all really depends on condition, and how much your willing to spend to get it working, or spruced up.

A litely rusted HK93 is probably worth $1500-$1600.   If the rust is more than surface rust, pass on this gun.

Lowball him.  $500-1000.  Then send the sucker off to get refinished.  It will be good as new when in comes back.  Even if its pitted Jayson from IGF probably can do something to make less noticeable or at least fill in any large pits.  Thats a fair amount for a rifle in that condition.  You would not be ripping him off. But its going to cost $200-500 to get it redone.
