Bottom line, who's footing the bill for kiosks?
7/13/2016 3:41:48 PM EDT
[#1]
Consumers are footing the bill, as usual.  Dealers will charge a fee to use the kiosk service each time.

Prices at SS will continue to be set by your Powered-By dealer at checkout.

SS has not indicated they will increase dealer costs at this point. They may see it as just another investment with an acceptable ROI.

That's not quite correct.  We certainly won't be charging extra for Silencer Shop transfers through us.

Prices will not increase for FFL's. If an FFL has 10 transfers a month then the kiosk is free. If they don't then it is $100 however the first 6 months is free no matter what.

FFL's can choose to charge for non-customers if they choose. The choice is theirs. Also once you use the kiosk then you don't need to again.

Ya'll know I'm right this time though. Read above where the man said there's a $100 monthly kiosk fee charged to each dealer who does <10 transfers per month.  And with post 41p sickness grinding business to a halt....guess what? No free lunch.

What makes you think business will grind to a halt? I see it increasing, with the only limitation being that many dealers are currently sold out.

im sure with the $ they made off of profit in the last month alone because of 41P/F, they arent worried about having to "pass the buck" for the kiosks.

That will be temporary.  Once people figure out that the sky didn't actually fall, business will go back to normal levels.

You may be right. But the sky is falling. Anyone who doesn't see 41P as a major loss is sorely mistaken. Change is gradual, this was just one small step. Win for them, loss for us.

Meh, eliminating CLEO signoff was a win for us.  Making trusts get pics and fingerprints was definitely a loss.

What if a dealer, with a kiosk, also sells/carries suppressors that silencer shop does not carry? Will the Kiosk be available for those that purchase the cans that are not listed on your website?

IIRC, $25 was the fee. I'll assume the dealer passes that along to the customer...

Their discretion but I know some dealers that are not planning on that and just looking at it as the cost of doing business. It is their choice we don't have anything that says one way or the other.

But the charge itself goes to the dealer, right? The end-user doesn't pay it at the kiosk by sliding a card or anything? They're invoiced daily/weekly/monthly or something?

Dealer just knows that's part of the equation when considering profit margin during any negotiating.

For the record, I don't mind paying a fee for a valued service. Thank you for developing the kiosk idea.  It was quite clever and sure to become the envy of your competitors.  My main concern is, will you still be giving away free SilencerShop oven mitts?
