Hey guys I am trying to buy components for the 1st time and I was going to order from powder valley, but they are out of the federal 210 primers.  Are the CCI ok to use for precison shooting. I am reloading 308 and I plan on using varget powder, sierra matchking 168 grain bullets, and nosler brass. I am new to reloading I just noticed that the federal 210 seemed to be popular, trying to order all at once to save on the hazmat fee

i use CCIs in all my loads, 308 and 223.  for the 308 i use BR2 (large rifle benchrest) and for the 223 BR4 (small rifle benchrest) or regular small rifle (CCI  400 i believe).

no problems in either gun.  just have always used CCIs, and am a creature of habit.  they'll do just fine.

Handloading is part experimentation.

Experiment a little.  Buy a smaller amount (locally) and see IF your rifle likes it.  Every rifle is different, as to what flavor it likes.

And, as it's been said:  There is no guarantees in life.........except for death and taxes.

Have used tens of thousands of CCI primers over the years and never had a problem with them. In my experience, unless you are doing benchrest or long distance shooting, the primers have less of an effect on accuracy than finding a bullet/powder combination your rifle likes.

CCI's are my choice.  They fit more snug in my reloaded brass and are available at the Wal-Mart one half mile from my house.  Although I saw a slight improvement in accuracy with WSR primers in 223 the advantages of the CCI outweighed the small advantage I saw with WSR.
