I have been reloading for 25+ years. I just started reloading fro my AR . I have a RRA entry tactical with standard trigger. I first tried 10 Winchester Small rifle primers. the firing pin pierced 4 of them. I switched to wolf small rifle mag primers and tried 20 more. no holes but it is a real deep dent. this is the load I am using.... 25.6 grains of varget in Lake City once fired brass hornady 55 FMJBT. The primers in some factory ammo I have tried ...... privi m193, fed m193, wolf military classic, and some Georgia arms canned heat all look good with a normal small dent. where should I start to look to fix this.

| I thought about the fireing pin but it seems to be fine with the other ammo I have tried. I am not sure but I was told that the wolf mag primers have one of the thickest cups going. I will see what other primers I can find tomorrow and load a few of each to see what will happen. |

The only Wolf primer I have used so far is the LR in 30-06. I did notice the firing pin indent was different. But, I didn't see it as a problem. Possibly, the Wolf cups are thicker/tougher and do not deform as much when the case expands back to the breech face.
I'm glad to have them and I hope the rumors of good accuracy are true. |
