Just curious how many people have paid more than $35.00 per 1000 for small/large pistol/rifle primers. I have been lucky enough to find primers for cheap, but I think my luck is starting to run out.

Even though the available primers are high, reloading is still cheaper. However, I have a problem supporting greed.

Right now I'm waiting for primers to become available and buying loaded ammunition.

ETA: $35.00 before taxes, shipping, and haz. $35.00 was base on what I paid before prices went crazy and current prices through major distributors. I did not consider match, bench rest, etc. for the poll. Only standard and magnum.

If you need some and want to shoot you need to pay the going rate.  I would buy what I need and wait for the supply to catch up and the to price go down.  I got caught short in the primer shortage of 1993 so I haven't let my supply get too low since then.

Bought 1k of SP for $40. Misplaced them somehow. Went looking for more. Bought 3K of SP at $17 each. Even if I never find the MIA box, I'm averaging $30, not bad for these days.

I bought some Federal LP Match primers for $36/k. I guess that's more expensive than some of you think they are worth but then I've had guys offer me $60/k for them afterwards. So I guess they were worth it.

Last week, I got the last 1k of Large Rifle Mags from my local guy @ 38.95, incl. tax.  Now, I am sitting in good shape to wait for a while.

I guess once you think about it, an increase from 2 cents a primer to 3.5-4 cents a primer isn't all that bad, but still, I want my cheap primers!

Yep. and willing to do so again if they become available.

Nope. Just paid $30.00 for small and large magnum pistol primers from my local guy.

I just paid $25 per k for large rifle and $27 per k for large pistol.

But if some CCI 350s came my way for $40 per K I'd probably buy them.

Anyone paying more than 35 is contributing to the problem.

I voted "No wouldn't pay................."

But if I could find 1000 Federal 210s I'd probably bite. I use them for Jap 7.7, and 1000 would last me between 5-10 years.

No way on my high volume stuff. I'll substitute and rework my loads.

I am lucky enough to have a decent supply of primers and haven't had to purchase any at ridiculous prices.  Would I do so, under certain conditions, yes, I would.  If I was going to a major match and needed primers, I would.

I hate polls.

For example, in this poll, if you'd paid $36 for primers you get lumped in with the guys who paid $150.  Federal Match 210M primers cost as much as $35 quite some time ago.  You didn't specify whether that includes tax and shipping and hazmat charges, either.  Then there's the disparity between a single, simple "yes" answer and the two versions of "no", both of which have qualifiers, neither of which apply to me.  I wanted to answer "no" but neither of the options was truthful for me.  I hate polls.

I am in the "NO, but I am thinking about it!!"

**NOTE** if you count the HAZMAT and shipping, then most people are already in the YES group.**NOTE**

Yes I paid $75 for 2K CCI #41 primers after tax, and no I only paid $60 for 2K CCI-400 SR primers a couple months ago. I did just pick up 2K LR BR primers for $120 last week for someone on here so he wouldnt miss his match shoots though, but not for me, also got him 5lbs of Varget for $200 but again he offered that price and is not what it cost me.

That's right ...once you cross the threshold you are in there. I edited my original post.

I'm still of the mindset anything over $20/K is too high.  Most I ever paid was about $18/K for non shotshell primers.  Last time I bought shotshell primers I paid $20/K

The last primers I bought was $14.95/1000 for the silver Winchester SR primers.

Bought 20k at that price, still have 5k left.

$20 per K shipping and Hazmat included is my max, I have never paid more than $19 including S&HAZ...... in five to seven years when I need more I will be willing to pay $25.
