I picked up a Pro-Tech Godson awhile back and have been carrying it around for the 6 months before I went to basic and the two months since I've been out
It's not terribly thick, and I usually have it tucked to the right side of my right pocket. I don't have any problems retrieving anything from my pocket, 5.56 for reference
The housing is solidly built, I'm not generally gentle and some wear is becoming evident
The automatic release is fairly quick and the locking mechanism can certainly hold. To fold back in the release button is depressed and the blade tucked back in.
The blade itself has been good for what I use it for, which to be honest isn't a whole lot. I've breasted pheasant and dove with it and I've used it in various construction
uses and as the obligatory box opener
It's been a good knife for me, and thats about all I can ask of it.
I'm not very knowledgeable in this field of expertise but I had some time on my hands and thought I'd share some thoughts about my knife.
Be gentle

Protech makes very nice knives for the price. You should try out the TR-3, I love that thing.

Protech is good stuff.
I've only got a godfather but plan to add a TR3 and a Brend at some point.
