I am having a problem with my competition master locking the bolt to the rear when shells are still in the mag tube. I have been using target loads with 71/2 and 8 shot. Any ideas? Thanks

I just fixed one that was doing this. A couple of questions:

1. Does it happen with different loads and brands of ammo?

2. When the bolt locks open, is the next round held back in the magaine by the shell latch ( the little tab on the same side as the ejection port ) or is it held back by the interceptor latch ( the little lever on the opposite side )?

Homer, I will have to check on that. I will take it out and try shooting it today.
I may give Remington a call, but I was hoping it was something I could fix myself without sending it in.

It appears that the shell is feeding out of the magazine, but the bolt is not going forward. The shell is just laying in there.
