So I took my carbine out today & I was having problems with it firing 2-3 rounds at a time.  It was usually half way through a magazine.  After 70-80rds it started to FTE quite a bit also.  It didn't do it every magazine either.  Are the problems caused by worn out springs?

I've worked on 2 carbines to get them running and I had to rebuild both bolts to get them to extract well.  They are GI so I'm sure the extractors that were on there were pretty worn but either way, I suggest rebuilding your bolt.  That's for the extracting problem.  As far as the doubling and trippling, it's gotta be something in your trigger group.  What, I don't know, I'm not an expert on those, but I'm assuming it's a worn sear.  See if you can buy another trigger group if you want to stick the money in it.

As far as your mags, I only use 15 round USGI, the 30's I've had never work and I don't think they're usgi.  It doesn't sound like you're having mag problems though, that's usually a feeding problem, not extracting or doubling.  What kind of Carbine is yours, got pics????
