I've got an old hammerless in .380.

Once or twice every couple of mags, it will not fire.  The previous spent brass is ejected and the slide appears to be in battery, but the trigger will not operate.  If I move the slide a very little (manually) to the rear and then let it return, perhaps a 1/16" it will then fire.  This occurs will a wide variety of ammo, from factory to light reloads to stiff reloads.

I have replaced the recoil and hammer springs, but have not endeavored to disassemble the frame to inspect the grip safety and it's related parts.

Any ideas as to what the cause may be?  I've heard disassembling the frame on these can be a real pain, so I've avoided that for now.

Thanks for any input.

Oh well.  Not enough interest in this one I guess.  Thanks anyway

An issue with the disconnector hanging up perhaps?

Thanks for the link.  When I have a weekend to kill, I will definitely be using that link to get into this.  Although I remain a little intimidated.

I sure wish I knew what could be causing my problem before I delve into complete disassembly.

Again, many thanks.
