Hi guys,
I´m using the LEE PPM now since a couple of years without any problem.

New to it is now the caliber .223 Rem., since now I always loaded "bigger" calibers (diameter).

With the brass of the .223 Rem. there always goes a little powder not into but out of the brass.
Mouth is to little.

I´m searching for an bolt-on funnel or something like this.
I don´t want to use a seperate one, so I have to go two steps more with filling the brass.

Can someone help me out of this?

Powder pan with attached funnel. Midway sells it and believe Lyman makes the pan.

I dump into a little plastic tupperware thingy first and then pour in using a funnel.

Yes, thanks, I´m doing the same thing right now.

And this is exactly what I want to avoid.
This are two steps more by filling the brass against other - "bigger" - calibers.

It must be possible to install a smaller funnel or something directly at the powder measure!

Isn´t there anything like this on the market?
Or does someone know how to build this easily on my own?

I just stick the brass under the spout. It is tapered so the brass centers itself. I have never missed or spilled any powder doing this.

This only happens with the .223 Rem. brasses.

I reload 9mm Luger, .357 Mag., .45 ACP, 7,5x55 Swiss, .30-06 Springfield and the 8x57IS since a couple of years.
Never had that problem, too.

It´s just with the .223 Rem., where the brass mouth is such as wide as the funnel hole of the powder measure.

Give the case a "twist" before you pull it away from the filler, I found exactly what you are finding with the Lee and developed this technique.

I think I'd try to scrounge up a .17 Remington case, cut the case head off it, find somebody with a lathe to turn down the existing Lee drop tube until the .17 case body fits over it snugly, and glue it on to act as a fixed funnel.

I don't have a Lee Perfect Powder measure close by, but my memory of it says that would probably work pretty well.
 Just a suggestion...

Same here.

Jam that brass up in there and tap the measure a couple of times to knock loose the Klingons.

I used a 204 ruger case. Cut the case head off and flared the body a little so it fit snug. I actually replaced the drop tube with the case. Worked great but had to tap the case/drop tube to make sure all powder came out.

Press the case up into the spout and then tap the powder measure after the throw, no special tools needed.

Ok guys,
thanks so far.

I will test both, taping and twisting.

(Sounds a little like an old dance from the 60´s   )
