| I have a 10/22 with Tac. Sol. barrel with a Nikon 3-9x40 in a Weigand integramount. I cannot get the scope zeroed with the elevation. I have the elevation as high as I can get it and it only shoots about 1-1.5 inches high from bull at 15 yards. Do you have to have a rimfire scope in a 10/22? Any other suggestions? |

Cut some shims out of an aluminum beer can and add some under the mount. Back off to 25Y. You shouldn't need a scope at 15Y. Inspect the barrel closely and make sure it is fully seated in the receiver and that the bolts are tight. I agree to all of the above. I have used both the Buckmaster & the ProStaff 3-9x40mm scopes on rimfires and they work fine. The Buckmaster version I have on 2 rifles right now, and it is my favored all-around scope for rimfires. The only thing I don't like about it is that only the lower magnifications are usable inside 40 yds or so. |

.... I cannot get the scope zeroed with the elevation. ..... You are suffering from barrel droop. Get one of the Adjustable V-Blocks and be done with it. A lot of bull barrels suffer from this same problem.

I bought a cheap electronic dot sight to see if my no elevation problem was the scope and mount I previously had on my 10/22. To no avail, I had to crank up the new dot sight to get the rounds to print at 25 yds.
Is shimming a 10/22 a common occurrence with dot sights or scopes? I checked my barrel mounting and it looks spot on. When I shoot, the rifle is a tack-driver. So... |

I would use the adjustable V-Block to get the "barrel droop" problem under control. Then you are done. You don't have to mess with shims to try and get the correct amount and you won't be putting the scope or rail in a bind. JMO |

JMO After some hours of research I have found that your suggestion is spot on. Barrel droop seems to be a common occurrence with 10/22's and aftermarket bull barrels. The adjustable v block seems to be the way to go. Appears my issue is not with the scope, rings or base. |
