| I saw mention of this as an upcoming product in the .22 suppressor market. Who makes it and what is the advantage/disadvantage? Also is it true you can use the Trinity on .22s as well as 9mm? I'm looking at getting my first suppressor and trying to decide what to get and what to put it on. |
Yes, you can use the Trinity on a .22LR. This isn't anything all that revolutionary. As a general rule you can use a suppressor on its rated caliber as well as smaller calibers (i.e. .45 can on a .40 and 9mm; 9mm can on a .32, .25, .22; etc.). Of course this rule applies to staying within the same "family" or cartridges. Pistol cartridges in pistol cans. Rifle cartridges in rifle cans. |
Yes it is less effective and shooting 22 will make it get really dirty, buy a can for a caliber and leave it there. Buy a 22 can if you want to shoot 22. |

The Prodigy is officially now in production and will hopefully be availble around mid-December. Had lunch with Freddy today and he confirmed parts were ordered and production is gearing up. Originally we (Polite Society, Inc.) were going to get the first and only 30 cans. However, plans have changed slightly. AAC is making only 105 Prodigy silencers. They are keeping 5 for themselves. Then we (PSI) are getting the next 50. The remaining 50 are being split between two other dealers. Which dealers I cannot say; but I've been told they don't "play" on-line much. I have confirmed that AAC will NOT be making any more Prodigy silencers for a minimum of six months. I've been told it may even be longer than that due to some military contracts. Mark |
What a waste. Seems silly for RS to license his design to someone who cannot make them in sufficient quantity. They should outsource production. Personally, I stay away from limited production products, IME parts & service are too hard to come by. Of course, if cutting back production on Prodigy brings REVO-45 to market sooner, I am all for it |

Odd they would produce so few. I wonder if they are underestimating demand. Or maybe we are overestimating Didn't Silvers or AAC post some pictures of the Prodigy somewhere a while back? I'd be curious to see the one-piece baffle design for .22. I saw their 338LM at silencertests.com and I'm curious to see how similar they are. |

Can't speak for AAC, but I know what kind of contracts they have right now and I see the production output. Believe me, I think we're lucky to be getting these 100 units. They will make more, but demand on other products is also high. It is a balancing act. There is a lot of interest in the Prodigy (believe me; my e-mail box is full And yes, I think part of the reason they are only doing this run of just over a hundred is so they can also get the new .45 can out. We should (hopefully) see those for sale in mid-January. I'll also say AAC has continued to improve their production processes and they will be working hard to keep up with demand. Mark |
Marketing Tactics 101. They will probably sell out fast... purely on pre-production hype. While they are not being made, the demand will grow and grow. They will raise price, and then sell out the next batch too. Fast! Pretty standard market control, market tactics methodology. |

Price increase? Well, I probably shouldn't say anything, but I know AAC is taking a hard look at their pricing stucture. While a price increase next year is not out of the question, I don't think any decision has been made yet. If there will be an increase, we'll hear about it at SHOT and I expect no sooner. Note to other dealers - if there is an increase we'll all have some advanced notice. I wouldn't freak out and start buying up product yet. Mark |
As I said, Marketing Tactics 101. A course augmented with Sales Tactics 101. Demonstrate a quality product, hype it ad nausem, sell some units, raise the prices, rely on satisfied customers "word of mouth" to carry you home..... They obviously paid attention in class. |
