For years I've loaded my 223 ammunition on a turret press and used a Hornady auto charge powder dispenser for the powder.
Now I'd like to switch to a progressive but the stick powder I'm using IMR-4064 hangs up the powder measure.
Any recommendations?

Gosh... there are much better powders for 223. I would rather talk you into changing powders than to change the press. A huge expense and new learning curve. Not worth it for this one issue unless you really have a list of other reasons (speed, just got a bonus check, zombie apocalypse coming, etc...)

How much 223 you shooting? How many other calibers you load? Which ones? Those are all questions that you should consider.

Switch to a ball powder if you want to load on a progressive.

I tried IMR-4064 years ago in 223, it was terrible. Measuring and accuracy.

Yes, ball powder!  I like TAC......meters like a dream.....plenty accurate.

I've tested a wide range of powders both in my Hornaday Lock-N-Load mechanical dispenser and my RCBS Chargemaster (combination auto trickler and scale).

CFE-223 is a popular fine ball powder and it pours almost like water.  You would think it would meter accurately, but a number of the short stick powders I regularly use actually meter more accurately.  This is true both for the purely mechanical Hornady dispenser and the RCBS automatic trickler/scale device.

Pouring well is NOT the same as metering well.  You need an accurate scale for testing and you need good testing techniques to come to a valid conclusion.  Most powder measuring devices need to "warm up", so to speak, before they settle in, so throw out at least the first ten samples, tap the powder reservoir, use the EXACT same technique each time, etc.  Log the results of at least 20 samples and then analyze the results.  You might be surprised.

Two powders that I've tested which meter very well are IMR 8208 XBR and Vihtavuori N-140.

I have good results with metering on my Hornady with VV N133 and H335. I have not tried others as these work great for me.

I also started out with IMR-4064. Measuring was a nightmare.

I would suggest switching to ball powder as well.

I load with H335 and it measures great!

Another vote for switching powders.  I've loaded thousands of rounds on a turret with H335 and it meters great.

Before going with a progressive (unless you just want one for speed/efficiency) try charging on press.
