| Has anyone actually run match ammo out of this to group test it? |
|
I shot a couple groups at 1" with scope and 165gr Hornady SST handloads (hot load of varget, win brass and CCI "military" primer) With irons it was a little bigger. I took my 178gr amax load for my bolt gun to try, but they were loaded too long to go in the mag. I've loaded some 150s as well but haven't tried them yet. Portuguese surplus was ~2" IIRC. ETA: I'm shooting the "KR" which is essentially a GI K with welded rail and wood stock set. |

I have four of his HK trigger jobs and they're ALL great! I also have one Bill Springfield HK job. I'll give you one guess as to which one is the only one that suffers hammer-follow fairly regularly. ![]() Did you attempt to have Bill rework the trigger to fix the problem? Not defending him, just interested if he stood behind the work? |

Yes, takes more effort, but it can still be done. I don't think a different trigger would improve groups for me, but it would make it easier to get them |

Not defending him, just interested if he stood behind the work? Nope. It was done gratis and the grind marks on what was left of the hammer and trigger engagement surfaces were all I needed to know about the work quality. I replaced the parts with OE as IMO a heavy trigger was far superior to the unreliability of having the hammer follow. |
| I found mechanical accuracy and practical accuracy to be significantly different with the HK91. Mechanically I'm sure its capable of MOA, practically its tough. Ergonomics leave a lot to be desired, standard trigger is in the bad to real bad category, optic heights / eye relief can be an issue. This is all compared to an AR15. As always YMMV. |
