Hi all,

I have been lurking on this forum and learning a hell of a lot over the past couple of months.  Thanks for all of the valuable information!  I recently took the plunge and bought a Ferret 50, and actually have another one on order.  Anyway, the question I had for you guys is what method do you use to pull down .50 bullets?  Of course, everything is bigger for the .50, and I haven't come across a bullet puller yet (besides the $$$ rcbs collet setup).  I'm asking because I have some ammo I'd like to pull down and inspect before I go firing it.

Thank you,

Josh

Hey thanks for asking this. I also am looking for an alternative to the rcbs collet setup.  Any ideas out there?

You can use a 5c collet block with a 13mm collet to do the same thing.  Should run about 50-60 dollars.

Can you pull AMAX's with that setup?  Links on where to get that?  Thanks for the help again.

I got mine on Ebay.  13mm collet was one item.  Collet block was another.  Look for one with the lever on the top.  Makes pulling a lot quicker.

i got mine on ebay also
except i went with either a 17/32 or a 33/64 collet i dont recall
they were cheaper and made in the usa
works great

heres a cheap used puller setup just needs the correct collet
5c collet holder

heres a new Chinese one
5c collet set

i dont see any collets in the correct size available on ebay at this time but tomorrow may be another story
there are a few online machine shop supply houses that do have them in stock when i was shopping for mine

Yeah!  I was surprised to still find them over at the FCSA forum after all this time...
They get the idea across and I bet you've inspired a lot of sales over the years :)

Thanks for all the info.  I really like the look of the corbin puller, but will the corbin pull AMAX's?  is there enough flat area for it to grip or do i have to go with the collet style?

you can buy a 5C collet block set that will come with a Hex shaped block and a Cube, 2 lock rings and the Cam over puller

Wich one of these setups (corbion or collet type) will pull AMAX projectiles?
