Looks good!! However, I’ve always been partial to the look of the KAC G36 rail, which was modified for use on the original shrike prototype. With that, quad rail for me. Secure mounting and radiator-like function. Personally I would love to see it with the arca rail on the bottom switched to picatinny as well, and those MLOK(?) slots changed to round ventilation holes, like on the KAC G36 rail. |

Once extrusions are made, it is much easier to machine certain versions. On the round ventilation holes- the MLOK slots will create the same ventilation and still allow for potential mounting of components. The ARCA will have MLOK slots in it as well, so adding a rail is a simple add-on. |

I agree with this. Round holes is a vibe. I am also ready to buy on the NATO rail |

For what it is worth, I think this is really going to come into its own with the L7. As a SAW/LMG, for pure portability and the ability to fire and maneuver that I see the L6 operating under, the extra weight of a QD system, spare barrel, etc. doesn't provide enough advantage over the RRH RPD buildouts. In a static/semi-static system of a MMG or GPMG (even man portable), with the increased temps of 7.62, the QD barrels are MUCH more attractive a system, especially if paired with the in-development long-stroke piston system. All that being said... I absolutely LOVE that the L6 is providing a new platform for development, and sincerely hope that this QD system is successful. So many smaller companies are coming out of the woodwork to build off the development of the platform, and it is amazing to have so many options to continue building civilian belt feds in a way that each customer can tailor their gun to their use ~ just because I am waiting for the potential J7-QD doesn't mean that I am not thrilled that the J6-QD will be available on the market. |

Oh yeah, I am already looking at what I need to do for what will be the L7. On the L6, I don't think that the need for the QD barrel falls solely on the concepts of SAW/LMG use & heat mitigation, which it would still be good for. Truthfully, the vast majority of these guns are never going to see any more action than how much we can tear it up as we burn through our bankroll on ammo, lol. It does provide a massive amount of modularity, which was the original concept when I designed this for the M4, so many moons ago. As it sits, the system weighs about 1.5 lbs. Only the collar is swapped out with the barrel, which is ounces. The best part of the L6, as you mention, is the innovation it is bringing out for accessories. I can't wait to work on the L7 to be a reality! Originally Posted By ABabyEater: For what it is worth, I think this is really going to come into its own with the L7. Also, could the handle be moved further down the barrel so that the huge slot doesn't have to be cut in the handguard for it? It seems like the slot would compromise the rigidity of the handguard. |

The latch angle may be changed in the production units. These are proof-of-concept prototypes, specifically made to weed out any issues. On the carry handle, the only way to move it forward is to either add it to the barrel, or lengthen the Barrel Collar, neither of which is a good option. At some point we may design a retrofit folding handle, but probably not an actual necessity. On the handguard sleeve cutout, we are not finding it to be an issue. That said, we can add some strengthening ribbing to run the length of it once we finalize our extrusion. This has to be simple and built to a price point.
