I purchased a suppressor (on a Form 3) from an out of state Class III dealer. After many attempts, he finally told me that the Form 3 had cleared and that they would ship the item within a day or two.
He also said that he could not give me further info, since he is doing the transfer to my local Class III dealer. This was two weeks ago and my local dealer has not received the item. My question is, am I allowed to ask for updates or does my local dealer have to get in contact with the out of state dealer? |

Ask who? The ATF or the dealer you bought it from?
Generally the ATF won't give you much info since you're neither the transferor or transferee. But, if you get the right person on the right day, they'll tell you. If you're talking about the dealer, you have every right to ask since you paid for it. The only out of state dealer I've dealt with was Silencer Shop. They've given me tracking numbers, ship dates, approval dates, and even copies of the F3s. |

After the sale (got my money) NOT so great, I was hesitant to even ask. |
