Guy I know wants to sell me 2 M1A mags made by USA Magazine for 20 bucks a pop, I searched for them and couldn't find them. they appear to be like the Type 57 Mags, anyone know what Im talking about or have used these?

Not a purchase I'd make. The steel used on a USA mag is thinner that the USGI mag. The locking tab is stamped out of the thinner steel side wall, not a study tab welded into place. The stamped tab will likely collapse in real world use.

CMI mag's are a very good option, for just a little more coin. You won't regret getting the CMI's. They will last a lifetime.

Buy once, and never look back.

Yeah, not cheap enough to be worth the risk.

USA Magazines was located in Santa Fe Springs, CA.  The company went out of business some time between 1994 and 2001.

Is the locking tab stamped in to the sheet metal or is the tab welded in place. It doesn't really matter, genuine G.I. mags can be had for a couple of dollars more.

I had several during the ban and some wouldn't even lock into the gun. The ones that did jamed before the mag. was empty.
