Im moving into a new house this month. Same state and county, just different address. What form(s) if any need to be submitted to inform the ATF? These are trust items, so the LE is not involved.

The short answer is none.

That's good to know.

On a related note, what is required if you actually do move states, i.e. military change of station.

Thanks. I was told once that if I got orders and moved that I would have transfer it to myself using FFL's and pay the tax stamp for each transfer.

Is this correct?

That is 100% incorrect.

You already own it; you cannot transfer to yourself something which you already own. Folks have tried and ATF rejects them, with this reason.

You could, for instance, transfer something from yourself to a trust, or from a trust to yourself. But why do so?

Bottom line is, when you legally acquire NFA, there are no more taxes/fees you will ever pay to the feds, unless you decide to sell it to someone else.

Thanks. That seems more logical and makes sense. But we all know that there's no common sense with the BATFE and anti-gun legislation.
