I have a couple thousand new unfired LC brass that I bought a couple of years ago and I am ready to reload it.

I plan to treat it as once fired brass and full size it and trim it.

My question is do I need to swage it with the ole Dillion swager before priming it?

What is your experience?

"new unfired" with or without primers?

If no primers there is nothing to swage (the primers are staked after they are installed).

If it is primed and staked, use the primers.
Swaging comes latter.

No primers.

I am just wondering if the holes will be uniform enough.

If no primers were ever installed, they should be uniform enough.

Unfired/new brass should always be sized and trimmed. I havent seen a new piece of brass that didnt need trimming. Keep your same routine even fore new brass, new brass gets dented durni.g shipping or being kicked around on floor so it should be run through even though sometimes its a pain.
