I have a question based on an image in another thread. On this thread: I saw a tray of cast boolits where they were all still shiny. I am using a fairly soft lithi - bee type lube and just having them in the same tray transfers lube all over each other. Kind of an sticky mess. Not horrible, but not shiny either. What type of lube are you using? And am I correct in assuming you are using a Star? Thanks as always |

First a little trick I'll teach you. When you want to link to a post, click on "link to this post" which is just under the posters post count. When you do it will add numbers to the URL. Copy URL and paste. Like this; http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/442122_Anyone_used_the_RCBS_Automatic_Bench_Primer_.html&page=1#i4279630 Notice the numbers added to the end of the URL? A big help as then you don't have a thread to search through, the link goes right to the post. I use this lube for rifle and pistol; http://www.midwayusa.com/product/521810/lyman-orange-magic-hollow-bullet-lube You will need a heater for this lube. I went to a hard lube (and heater) to get away from the soft lube mess. Using a Lyman 450 sizer with heater. Shinny bullets? Just normal, my secret is sawdust for fluxing. |

Ah ha! Thank you for that. I did not see that link there. Cool. And thanks for the link to the lube. Much appreciated. Will save that for when I get a lube sizer. Am still at the pan lubing stage. Have a great weekend. Eta: I have had good luck with sawdust as well, but for my molds they seem to fill out better if I run them just a little warm so they have a matte finish. Not shiny, but not frosted either. |

I use a Lyman lubrisizer with this heater plate attached.
I use Thompson Blue Angel lube when I run out of a concoction I make from Gulf wax and a little lanolin. |

Moto1: I had heard that about tumble lubers. I tried the 45-45-10 alox mix but did not have good luck with it. Tried Hi-Tec as well. Oddly enough, so far a home brew Lithi-Bee seems to be the best. That may change as I figure this out. FB1: thanks for the link. When I break down and get a "proper sizer", I may need that for harder lubes. |
