Before final installation of a trifecta MB I cut open a white tube of rocksett and tried to apply it to the threads of the barrel.

This is my first time using rocksett but noticed that is was very thick and had the viscosity of molasses (it was clear though). While threading on the MB the rocksett seemed to accumulate at the first few threads of the MB.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal for rocksett? I was under the impression that it was supposed to be more like a liquid than an epoxy.

yup the newer white rocksett packages are thicker. Really thick! It dries into a solid. Its normal! Spread some on there and mount your mount! Make sure you wipe any excess because it'll hard into a solid. When I first applied mine, as I screw on the mount, it pushed the rocksett and it looked like rubber. Its really weird!

Thanks SC for that accurate description. Me thinks that the mount will never come off now as I applied a pretty decent amount thinking that the rocksett was bad.

They might have changed type. I think there's different kind of rocksett. I know before the packet was black now they're white like Micheal Jackson
