All, I have a C&R and I want to sell one of my rifles to a dealer that is not in my state. My question is: can/how do I go about doing this? I read ATF Pub 5300.4 and from what read I am ok to do it as long as the receiver is a licensed dealer. I also understood it to read that the only things I need from the dealer is copy of his licence. Then as long as I annotate in my bound book whom I sold it to then I am good to go to ship it to him via UPS,USPS, or Fed Ex. HELP me Obi Wan you are my only hope. Thanks in advance. |

If it is a C&R rifle, log it out of your book to the dealer's license including address, license number, etc. Ship it to him via UPS. No need to go to a dealer to ship it to the out of state dealer, regardless of whether or not it's on your book. -David Edgewood, NM |
