So...I have a trust, if that's even necessary any more. I created it for a F1 silencer just because I had the raw materials and did not want a constructive possession charge if things ever happened. I have 80%'s, that may some day get completed. I send money to GOA every year, but not sure about 'member' status. I live in Missouri: only restriction I know of is no AOW'S. What are we doing at this point for SBS/SBR? Form 1, same old paperwork, just no tax? Just make it and go? Just go full send and FATF, or full send Trust Mode? I'm not even sure how to tell who is covered and who isn't. Shouldn't it be nationwide if the ATF has been invalidated? |

Here in TN silencers were removed from the State level prohibited weapons list in 2018. SBR, SBS and AOW were removed around 2022. The way I read the judges decision is that members of the mentioned organizations do not need to do a Form 1 or 4 or the marking requirements since the Jenson case was included. ( Maker markings are easier to deal with if manufacture markings are already there) The NPRM about maker markings should be removing those requirements in a couple months, but who knows. Memberships with GOA, CCRTKBA and FPCAF covers it. There are additional orgs too, none of the memberships are very much. If you decide you want to sell your created items out of State, then a Form 3, which has not been excluded, applies. You can't do a Form 3 on something that doesn't exist, so a Form 1 (you) or 2 (a type 07 FFL SOT) needs to be done. I have no reason to leave TN with anything, so a non issue here. Locally, Smoky mountain guns and ammo is selling suppressors on 4473s. If those people ever want to move or sell them out of State, right now it's muddy. That's my .02, take it for what it's worth! |
