I'm looking to take the plunge into the suppressed world. I've been looking into either Gemtech or AAC suppressors. However I have a few questions I hope ya'll could help answer.

1. Does Gemtech warranty suppressors used on 10.5 uppers? I remember reading that they do not but have they recently changed this policy?
2. Does AAC warranty suppressors used on a 10.5 uppers?
2. Will the Gemtech G5 or Halo fit on a 10.5 upper?
3. Will the AAC OMNI fit on a 10.5 upper?
4. Any ARFCOM dealers in Texas sell AAC suppressors?

Thanks.

I don't have answers for all your questions but here is some.

As for the Halo or Omni fitting a 10.5, the main thing you need is most likely 1/2 to 3/4" of barrel between the FH and the front site.

I believe Renegade is now a stocking AAC dealer in the DFW area. You did not say what area of Texas and we both know that it can be a long way and still be in Texas.

2. Does AAC warranty suppressors used on a 10.5 uppers?
2. Will the Gemtech G5 or Halo fit on a 10.5 upper? Yes, HALO will fit on the newer versions of the LMT 10.5" barrels. They have made a skim cut behind the flash hiderat our request for use with the HALO. The G5 is no problem also.
3. Will the AAC OMNI fit on a 10.5 upper?
4. Any ARFCOM dealers in Texas sell AAC suppressors?

Thanks.

Talon Arms, of course, stocks our products as an ARFCOM dealer.

2. Does AAC warranty suppressors used on a 10.5 uppers? Yes
2. Will the Gemtech G5 or Halo fit on a 10.5 upper? Sorry I dont know.
3. Will the AAC OMNI fit on a 10.5 upper? Dont know
4. Any ARFCOM dealers in Texas sell AAC suppressors? Dont know

Like Owen said, Talon Arms is probably the closest (he's in Houston).

Talon is most likely to have a G5 currently in stock and that will shave time off on the transfer process. We do have dealers in the Austin area as well but I name Talon since they are also ARFCOM supporters.

1. Does Gemtech warranty suppressors used on 10.5 uppers? I remember reading that they do not but have they recently changed this policy?  Gemtech used to not, but they do now.  I am not sure if they require you to have them set the mount for you...as this used to be the case.  You need to call them to ask.
2. Does AAC warranty suppressors used on a 10.5 uppers? As far as I know, they do, but a phone call wouldn't hurt.
2. Will the Gemtech G5 or Halo fit on a 10.5 upper?  Either of these suppressors will fit onto a properly threaded barrel, even one of 7.5 inches up to 24 inches or more...
3. Will the AAC OMNI fit on a 10.5 upper?  Of course it will...
4. Any ARFCOM dealers in Texas sell AAC suppressors?  There are several I would bet, but I would ask this in EE instead of the suppressor forum as this is SUPPOSED TO BE A TECHNICAL FORUM AND NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR A SITE SUPPORTER...
Thanks.  You are very welcome.

Gemtech and AAC both cover their "cans" if used on 10.5 barrels. Off the record they will typically take care of a customer even if the barrel length is even less. I will tell you that the HALO will not work on a LMT 10.5 because I have tried. The barrel diameter between the flash hider and the FSB is to large to fit in between the HALO collar. If you look at a typical 14.5 or 16 inch barrel you will notice that there is about 1 inch or so of a step down on the barrel before the flash hider where the HALO collar slips onto the barrel before pulling up onto the flash hider. However you could use any of the other Gemtech suppressors aside from the Halo. Because of this I went with an AAC M42000. I've had plenty of trigger time with both the AAC and Gemtech cans and they are both quality units.

You must have one of the older 10.5 LMT units. We worked with LMT to add the skim cut behind the barrel on the 10.5" to give them the same OD as a standard M4 barrel and the HALO fits on them now. This was 12-18 months ago the change occurred.
