Here's the question, I am a 01-03sot am interested in Gemtech intergrally suppressed barrels for the 10-22. Just started as a 03 been a regular ffl with a storefront for 19 years. How can I market the Gemtech barrel ? If I put it on a gun would I would need to be a 07 manufacture ? If I put it on a customers gun do I have to be a 07manufacture. Do my customers have to do a form 1 since they are changing the barrel? Or a form 4 since its a suppressor?  NEED SOME INSIGHT?????

I'm far from an expert and I'm sure one will chime in but my understanding is that the barrel is not the serialized part on a 10/22 so your not creating a new firearm. I don't think you would need a manufacturers license. Your customers would have to do a form 4 to transfer the silencer from you the dealer to them the buyer. You installing the barrel/silencer on customers gun or a gun you sell them after the stamp has come in and the customers form 4 is approved would be nothing more than you helping them install an accessory.

Just sell them the Mist. Don't even bother installing it on a host 10/22. They are so configurable and opinions are so varied that you'd probably lose a buyer if you forced them to also pay for a 10/22 in a configuration they wouldn't want.

If you really wanted to mate it with a 10/22, it's still a title I firearm as the Mist core is blind pinned onto the barrel making the OAL > 16" therefore you aren't making a short barreled rifle.

That's my idea I will have a demo on hand that's not for sale and offer the barrel-suppressor for sale and only install it after form 4 approval and or 4473 if they buy a host gun from us.
