| I have a couple questions I need help with. I am looking at starting to sell reloading supplies at gun shows in WI. What is the going rate for a pound of powder at the shows and at the stores you usually buy it at? Which powder or powders do you use the most and what calibers do you use it for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I haven't purchased much powder lately because I have a decent stock and the stores just haven't had much for selection for the last year or so, last month I paid $21.95 for a pound of H4350 locally (Bi-mart). Seemed high to me but as we all know, it's a new world out there when it comes to ammo and reloading supplies.
Anyway, I have no idea if my usage is typical but these are the ones I use most frequently:: Hodgdon BL-C(2) (.223 Rem, .204 Ruger, .308 Win) Winchester 748 (.223 Rem, .204 Ruger and .308 Win) Hodgdon H4350 (.30-06 Sprg) Hodgdon Varget (7mm-08 Rem, .204 Ruger) Hodgdon H380 (.22-250 Rem) Alliant Unique (.45 colt, .357 mag, 12 gauge) Alliant Bullseye (.38 special) Hodgdon H110 (.357 mag, .41 Mag) Alliant Green Dot (12 gauge) Alliant Red Dot (.45 colt) |
| 231 (.45, 9mm), 335 (223), Varget (223), Unique (45, 9mm, 38), 4064 (308, 243), Tac (223), 4895 (223, 243, 7-30 Waters), 2400 (44 mag), Bullseye (45, 9mm), Power Pistol (45, 9mm), Universal Clays (45, 9mm), 4350 (30-06). Under $21 for a one pound can or I don't buy it. |

Several years ago, the local Walmart started selling reloading tools and components. I went to the store to get a can of black powder for the upcoming muzze loading season. I asked the clerk for a can of black powder. She handed me a 1lb can of Bullseye. I said, "No, I need black powder." She assurred me this powder was black. She had looked in the can.
Like this clerk, you need to learn a LOT more about the subject before you get too deeply involved in this business venture. I would start with transportation and storage restrictions. |
