I just acquired an 870 Police Magnum, it has the 18" barrel and has a mag capacity of 4 (this is not enough  ) Who makes an extended magazine kit (of good quality) and what is the capacity when flush with the muzzle?

You'll need a plus 2 round extension. This will be flush with an 18" barrel. This will hold a total of 7 rounds: 6 in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. Brownell's sell most of the better brands. Choate is very good, and come with the extension, longer spring, heavy-duty follower, the barrel clamp, and a sling swivel. www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=4203&title=SHOTGUN+MAGAZINE+EXTENSION For your gun, you'd need #159-102-870 for a blued gun or #159-104-872 for a parkerized Police gun. These cost about $80.00 or more. Whatever you buy, USE A CLAMP. An unsupported extension can be knocked off the gun, ruining the gun's magazine tube threads and costing an expensive trip back to the factory for replacement. |
