A friend of mine picked up a FAL at the local show this past weekend.  It is a fairly typical FAL except for the flash hider.  It looks like the long browning type hider, but it is a quick disconnect design.

There is a lug on the barrel that locks the hider in place.  You turn the hider 180 degrees and it pulls off the end.  There are no threads on the barrel, just the lug.  The seller also had a brake with the same design.  Both the hider and brake have "AB" and "AUF" on the disconnect collar.

Any idea what country these came from and the era they were manufactured in?  The rifle appears to be fairly old.  It has a Coonan receiver so I know it was a kit gun.
