Hi all, I'm a proud new GSG-5 owner, and I can't wait to start customizing her...I found a few Retractable stocks that I'm interested in, but had a few questions. What's the difference in the 2 different Classic Army Retractable Stocks? Will they both fit the GSG5 without modifications?

And I also found this one, I haven't seen anyone on here really talking about it, does anyone know if it will fit without modifications?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I just got my ICS A3 stock.

It has a plastic receiver block, metal stock arms, metal sling loop, and a plastic buttpad.

It fit on with the sling loop without any mods, looks good, but it's mostly plastic.

I was wondering the same thing... does the new version CA work on the GSG-5 without modification? What's the difference between the old CA retractable stock and the newer version?

The metal end cap on the CA (new version) is a very tight fit. I have to tap in on and off with a rubber mallet. stock is solid, with very little up and down movement when extended.

Agree, the new one is a very tight fit. Also, I was able to get the little sling loop to fit on the new one, which if I recall, was not possible on some of the retractables.

I purchased one of the "new" CA MP5 stocks (A173M) from Cobra Airsoft. Opted for the quickest shipping and had it within a week of my order. Fits nicely with no wobble. I did have to use some grease and a mallet to get it all the way on but otherwise, installation was a breeze. The sling loop also fits on the "new" stock:

Picture of the packaging:

Stock extended (ignore the grease marks):

Stock collapsed:

How much of the ejection port is covered by the rails in the collapsed position:

From reading other posts, it appears that the rifle will still function with the stock collapsed.

Looks good Engineer!

I got mine in today about an hour ago. I got the same exact one...the A173M model from Cobra as well. It only took 2 days to get here from China...unbelievable! It came yesterday, but I wasn't here to get it, and they required a signature to deliver.

Fits great, metal cap which I like, and seems very sturdy and no movement. A good option and better than the original stock, in my opinion. The cheek weld is no where near as good as the original stock, but still, it seems that it would be more durable and being able to collapse it out of the way is a BIG + in my book. It makes it a nice compact unit with this installed.

I was able to get mine all the way on and off by hand...no mallet needed. It is tight, but I am just able to push it all the way on, and wiggle it a little and it comes right off, so I am happy about that.

I think that I am still going to get an ACE block, so I can mount something like an ACE entry skeleton stock or a MagPul CTR, since I have a couple laying around and that will give me a couple more options to try out. I will post some pics and let you know how that goes when I get it.

Later,

JuJu
