Pvs14 using Norotos dual dovetail adapter in a WILCOX g24 mount. When I flip the PVS up the monocular turns off automatically, but when I flip it down it will not come back on unless up I turn the switch off, then back on. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance. Still learning.

Normal.

A lot of folks end up just disabling the auto-shutoff feature.

The concept is good, but in the execution, it usually ends up being more trouble than it's worth, as opposed to simply manually shutting off the device.

Sounds good. How do I disable that function?

I cut two small squares of electrical tape and put them over the contacts on either side of the mounting point on the PVS-14 body.

Remove the magnet in the mount (little black box that rattles). Augee's method works and you can also just cut the J arm wire. You can also stop it internally on the scope but that requires more work and some dis assembly.
