I stumbled upon a few vidoes. And I searched and searched, no luck. Is anyone here running one of these? Here's the website. www.xrailbyrci.com

I will never use one of those.   First the weight would be unweilding.  Immagine trying to heft around a shotgun with 23 rounds in it?  You would be very slow.

The second reason is when I had talked to a company rep, the price was almost $1000 for the kit.  That is more than the shotgun and then some.

The last reason is you need a minimum of a 24" barrel to use the 23 shot capacity solution, so who would use a gun that long for a 3 gun or home defense?  It would be huge.

Save your money and just reload faster or buy a Saiga.

That's crazy!!! I have a HK/Benelli M1S90 with an 18" barrel and that's almost too long for my home and turning corners with in my house.

This looks good for 3-gun competition and for home defense (assuming it is reliable). Ammo management is the biggest challenge with shotguns, and I'm sure nobody ever walked away from a gunfight thinking "gee, I wish I had less ammo just now". The extra weight is a two edged sword - maybe slower to transition (you might be surprised how little of a difference that actually makes), but I'd imagine it also dampens recoil and muzzle rise a lot. The extra length might be a problem if you are a cop searching a house, but then again even an 18" barrel is too long for such duty - a handgun is better. For home defense, where you are (should be) more likely to be in a static position (safe room) I don't see the extra length as a show stopper, and it's certainly not a problem in 3-gun (I run a gun that is the equivalent of a 26" barrel). One thing I like about this concept over the Saiga is that it is easy to change ammo by following the standard "select slug" drill.

Overall I like this concept, though the price is steep and I'd want to see a lot more run time under its belt before I trusted my life or competition standing to it.

I used a 28 inch barrel for 3 gun and it worked just fine.  The 11round mag capacity I had was a bonus.  I dont know about the weight of this thing.

I've cleared my house one time with my 18" Benelli Tactical and one of my Pit Bulls. It was a bit awkward. In situations where your life is at stake, and/or your loved ones life is in jeopardy, weight wouldn't be an issue!!! I'm sure your adrenaline would let you tote a mini gun and thousands of rounds without any issues IF that's all you had to fight with.

I think I'm just fascinated with the round capacity.

It will weigh too much for HD.

Great idea though for fun shooting. I want one

This video shows the Benelli M2 Tactical with 18.5" barrel and an integrated XRAIL.  It fires 26 rounds and the XRAIL does not stick out past the end of the barrel.

It's slick.  Neat idea.  But for $1,000 + cost of host, I'm getting a converted Saiga and a 20 round drum (or maybe one of the 30 rounders that came out).  At least then I could do a fast reload and be back online in a couple seconds.

That's how much it costs?

I'll stick with my current extension

How is it that you can't hang too big of a side saddle off a Benelli or it'll choke, but one can hang this thing with 10+ rounds in it and it'll run just fine?

I'm interested in one of the M2's with the large integrated system.  The system seems too long and front heavy otherwise.

I'd say there's a decent chance it may have been tweaked to run optimally; would you want your company's demo gun to choke?  Also, it may apply pressure in a different manner than torquing the receiver in too tightly.

That looks horribly unwieldy. It would be an interesting conversation piece though. I just cant ever see a practical use for it... If you want a hicap shotgun, get a saiga! Clever design though.
