If I were to get a RDIAS put it in a rifle would it be possible to get full auto(not burst) by using just AR15 parts, EXCEPT take out the disconnector and replace the hammer w/ a M16 hammer? Thnx for any responses. This idea works in my head but I don't know if it would work in real life, and I'm not exactly sure I'm going to want to spend a bunch of time and money on more parts after buying a $10k RDIAS. |
| You can buy the M16 FCG parts from Bushmaster for $36 (see link) and then sell your AR FCG parts on the EE and recoup your money. After spending $10K+ for the RDIAS why would you go cheap on the parts to make it work properly? |
to expand on this...if you've got the $14k+ to get a RDIAS, you've certainly got the cash to get the proper FCG to make it work. |

I don't understand why you would not spend $50 for full auto parts when you just spent 13k+ for a RDIAS. Are you just fishing for clues on how to convert your AR15 to full auto? I hope not. ![]() Anyways just changing out the disco would not work. You need the proper selector and hammer. |
Then don't buy an RDIAS. You can't afford to own it. MGs go through hundreds of $$$ in ammo on every range visit. Barrels heat up so fast you need to bring along multiple uppers (more $$$), which means multiple optics (more $$$). The list goes on and on, and there's a big $ attached to each entry. Reminds me of the guy who spends $60k on a Corvette, then puts on a set of retreads, detunes it to run on regular gas and drives it uninsured because of the high cost of insurance. If you don't want to spend more money on parts after buying a $10k RDIAS ... don't buy an RDIAS. |
Thats funny right there. I have spent more money on extra uppers/ammo for my dias than it cost. The MG is not the expensive part, the ammo/accesories are. |
15k can buy some fancy shit and a truck load of ammo. Just what did you buy that cost so much? |
10 different uppers, 6 different calibers (couple of uppers each for specific calibers). Mags to go with them all, and I buy mags in large enough quantities that I don't reload at the range. Eotechs for those 6 uppers, suppresors for all of them, and a shitload of ammo. You do the math. |
