I need help with my new RT1500, for some reason everytime I turn on the motor the motor assembly spins itself almost 360 degrees on the trim die. Anyway to prevent this from happening?

Tighten the locknuts. There should be one on the top of the trim die that tightens against the bottom of the motor housing and another locknut on the bottom of the trim die that tightens to the press frame or die block.

I have an RT1200 and I use a strap wrench on the trimmer and a wrench on the lock nut and tighten them against each other.

Strap wrenches for those that may not know what they are

Make sure that you have the Upper locking nut tightly secured against the trimmer.

Make sure you also have the Trimmer locking nut, tightly secured against the tool head.

When you turn it on, you need to physically hold the motor with one hand and then flick the switch. You are talking about something that rotates at many, many RPMs, it will spin itself loose of the nuts easily.

Just hold it, and problem solved.

On the 1200RT I use blue loctite on the trim die threads that enter the motor and that enter the tool head. Jam nuts no loctite, I snug up tight and that ended any start up torque twist. Still able to adjust with the loctite applied.

Yup. Hold motor, flip switch. Never have a problem at least with my 1200. Don't need to over tighten or use strap wrench. Never had a problem. Doesn't loosen after 1000 cases of 223 on my Hornady LNL.
