I currently have a Primary Arms Micro-Dot on my GSG-5 mounted on a rail idential to this:

It works, but the Micro-Dot sits a tiny bit too high to cowitness with the rear sight.  The dot projector inside the Micro-Dot obscures the rear sight.

Does anyone know if the Walther-style rails sit any lower?

Walther-style:

Thanks.

If you haven't noticed, the problem with that Walther sight base is that it's full length is not usable.   Your sight has a clamp that may be longer than each mountable segment on that base, and you won't be able to adjust you sight fore/aft.   That base is really meant for fixed scope rings, or dual accessories (magnifier + red-dot)
That base looks the same as a Classic Army low profile mount, which has the same issue.

I like a low-profile mount like this, in long or short version, who's full lenth is usable.   It provides the lowest possible  position, is specific to the GSG/MP5 and takes advantage of the built in scope-stop block that is part of the top of your guns reciever.

Yes I've heard about that issue, but the Micro-Dot I'm using only uses 2-3 rails and I'm confident it would work.  Regardless, the rail you posted looks promising and I'll check it out.  Thanks.

Hi, V1Vr

If you don't mind my asking could you please identify that rail for us ?
Also where did you order it from and price? I like the fact that it utilizes
the scope-stop block.

The image is linked from http://www.airsoftgi.com, but they're $50 from that site.  MyGsG5.com has a simliar looking piece for $19 shipped.

It's a G&G low profile mount.  Can be had from most any domestic and overseas airsoft supplier.  As much a $40 for the short and  $50 for long.  You can find quality look alikes cheaper.  Airsoftglobal.com or just Google it.
